St George day is next week 23 April

St George’s day is only a week away, why not join us in the run-up to St George’s day, by posting any photos of past celebrations that you have had, or maybe of flags that was put up near where you live?

Do you have any thoughts about St George’s day, is it not celebrated enough, or maybe needs to be modernise to fit in with today’s society?

Here in Wales the children always dress up in Welsh costume on St David’s day and have they’re photos in local papers.
Do they do anything like this on St George’s day in England?

No it's not celebrated enough and (imo) thats down to 2 things

Political correctness...........English is a dirty word and it seems our councils/goverments etc are scared to say they are proud of their Nationality. They seem to want to help the minorities much more tha the people who give the majority of the money. It sickens me when you read about a church being told to take down the flag of St George in case it offended...........pure lunacy:evil:

The second one is todays soceity..............they couldn't give a toss about anything except themselves, and I don't just mean the kids. There's far too many folk out there on benefits when they shouldn't be, but they are happy for us to fund their lifestyle (Sky TV etc etc) Lack of respect, how many do we see our old people have been mugged etc by people. These people (most of them) fought in a World War something we will never ever appreciate what they went through.

My kids are involved in a St Georges Day parade today, and my daughter is one of the flag bearers I am one VERY PROUD dad
